Women’s Heart Disease

Heart disease isn't just a man's disease.
Heart attack, stroke and other cardiovascular diseases are devastating to women, too. Many women believe that cancer is more of a threat, but they're wrong. Nearly twice as many women in the United States die of heart disease, stroke and other cardiovascular diseases as from all forms of cancer, including breast cancer.

The most common cause of heart disease is narrowing or blockage of the coronary arteries, the blood vessels that supply blood to the heart itself. This is called coronary artery disease and happens slowly over time. It's the major reason people have heart attacks.

The older a woman gets, the more likely she is to get heart disease. But women of all ages should be concerned about heart disease. All women can take steps to prevent it by practicing healthy lifestyle habits and consulting with professional physicians.

The GHC Heart Center is staffed by experienced cardiologists from the US, Hong Kong and China, which is able to offer best heart care services to women.
